Tanzania Mission Team Prayer Guide

May 28-June 11, 2026

Team Members: Lamurl Morris (Team Leader), Kris Knox, Susan Knox, Tim Crowe, Ryan Cortez, Nate Reeves, and Kearsen Self

Thursday & Friday, May 28th & 29th

Request:

Pray for the team as they finalize preparations and begin the long journey to Tanzania. We depart on Thursday and arrive in Tanzania on Friday.

 

Praise: We thank God for a congregation that is faithful to pray for our mission teams.

 

Saturday, May 30th

Request: Pray for rest, health, and safety during travel to Morogoro, and for our preparations for all the ministries that we will lead on Sunday.

 

Praise: Give thanks for the people in Tanzania who transport and care for our team while in Tanzania—Abel and Jonysia Masha, Stephen and Joyce Masunzu.

 

Sunday, May 31st 

Request: Pray for LaMurl as she preaches at both worship services; Ryan, Kearsen and Nate as they lead youth and children’s ministry; and Susan as she teaches the Discipleship class at Mazimbu Temple.

 

Praise: We thank God for Pastor Salvatori Daffi and his wife, Claudia, who pastor and shepherd Mazimbu

Temple.

 

Monday, June 1st

 Request: Pray for the church

members and team as we work together to paint and prepare the Gethsemane Church

for tomorrow’s church dedication, and for Kris as he conducts water filter

training.

 

Praise: Give thanks for St. James Church and others who provide funding through the Global Impact

Celebration to build churches, water wells and toilets in Tanzania.

 

Tuesday, June 2nd

 Request: Pray for Pastor Jane and the congregation of the Gethsemane Church as they love and care for the

people in their village through the power of the Holy Spirit. May the church building, water well and filter, and toilets be a catalyst to draw people into

a close relationship with Jesus.

 

Praise: We thank God for the gift of His bride, the Church, where we love and serve one another, gather to worship, and live in community.

Wednesday, June 3rd

Request: Please pray for the team as we dedicate two water wells and conduct water filter training, and

present children’s ministry in both locations, and for Susan who will lead women’s ministry at Mazimbu Temple.

 

Praise: We thank God for physical water which nourishes our bodies and the earth. We claim the promise from John 7:37, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink." 

 

Thursday, June 4th

 Request: Pray for the Village of Hope Orphanage as they provide a safe place for children to live and learn

about Jesus, and as they serve the surrounding community. 

Praise: We thank God for Elizabeth Rusimbi, Jonysia Masha and other leaders at the Village of Hope. We

are grateful for supporters who provide funds for school fees, clothing, food and housing for the children at the Village of Hope.

 

Friday, June 5th

 Request: May we worship and marvel at the beauty of God’s magnificent creation. Pray for Tim as he delivers

a message to the pastors who are training to lead churches in the most remote areas of Tanzania.

 

Praise: Thank God for the team’s opportunity to visit Mikumi National Park to observe the animals, birds,

and grandeur He created. Thank God for the pastors who answered the call to ministry in plant churches.

 

 

Saturday, June 6th

 Request: Pray for the team as they travel to Kibaha for the second week of ministry. Continue to pray for

protection, good health, and for the team to reflect the love of Jesus through our words and actions.

 

Praise: We thank God for the opportunities to minister in Kibaha and for the relationships with the people in that area.

Sunday, June 7th

 Request: Pray for the team as we lead children’s ministry, teach Bible classes, and preach at Shalom Revival Temple.

 

Praise: Thank God for the pastor Raymond Munisi and his wife Dorothy who shepherd the congregation at Shalom Revival Temple.

 

Monday, June 8th

 Request: Pray for the people in the Bongo Church as we paint and prepare for the dedication service tomorrow. Pray for Kris as he conducts water filter training. May there be a spirit of unity and joy as we work together.

 

Praise: We thank God for the leadership and vision of the Bongo church to reach their community with the

Gospel.

 

Tuesday, June 9th

 Request: Pray for Kris as he preaches at the dedication service and for the team as they conduct children’s

ministry.

 

Praise: Give thanks for God’s faithfulness as we partner with our brothers and sisters in Christ to spread the Good News and as we reflect the love of Jesus to one another. Thank God for a great day of celebration.

 

Wednesday & Thursday, June 10th & 11th

 Request: Pray for our team as we begin the long journey home to our families and to you, our church. Pray for the country of Tanzania. May people come to know God as the One, True God. May our brothers and sisters in Christ be strengthened through the power of the Holy Spirit to love and serve their communities and churches.

 

Praise: Thank God for the privilege of serving in Tanzania, for His faithfulness to provide all that the team needed, for the generosity of people, and for the many prayers offered for the team and the Tanzanian people.

 

"Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!"
